Phoenix House
Overview: The project involved rebranding Phoenix House, the building used by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, with a Midcentury Modern theme. As a graphic designer, you were responsible for selecting the colour palettes, designing the logo, creating wayfinding and icons to be used throughout the building. The goal of the rebranding was to update the look and feel of Phoenix House to reflect the modern, innovative nature of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
Objectives:
To create a visual identity that is modern, fresh and reflective of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists
To develop a colour palette that compliments the Midcentury Modern theme while still providing a sense of professionalism and sophistication
To design a logo that is easily recognisable and represents the values of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists
To create wayfinding and icons that help visitors easily navigate and understand the different areas and services offered in the building
Methodology: The project began with research into the Midcentury Modern design style, as well as the mission, values, and goals of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists. This informed the development of a colour palette, with hues of teal, mustard, and neutral tones, that would be used throughout the building. The logo design process included multiple iterations and feedback sessions to create a final design that represents the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and its values. The wayfinding and icon design process involved creating a cohesive system that would help visitors easily navigate the building and understand the services offered.
